Title: Film Project
Type: (minimum)10 X 2hrs. leading to finished film
Description: Workshop leaders from the film/TV industry help pupils to create one or more short films. The project takes participants from idea stage, through script development, storyboarding, pre-production, filming and post-production. There are video/DVD copies of the films available at the end of the project. The difference between this and many other video projects currently on offer is the opportunity for pupils to meet workshop leaders with a genuine first hand knowledge of the industry, offering many insights into the world of film and Television.
Age Group: Can be KS1 - 5 or FE/HE level

Title: Audio Project
Type: 10 X 2hrs. leading to finished CD
Description: Workshop leaders from a professional writing background and production in the radio, music and film industry help pupils to create a unique themed CD. The finished result can be documentary, spoken word, drama, poetry, music, songs, new media or a mixture or all of these. The project takes participants from idea stage, through writing development, sound planning, pre-production, recording and editing. There are CD copies available at the end of the project.
Age Group: Can be KS1 - 5 or FE/HE

Title: 4 Corners Music Project
Type: One off Workshops in Music and Drama
Description: Workshop leaders from a music and drama background introduce pupils to instruments from around the world and how to play them. The links between music and drama are explored and pupils can then adapt a ‘world literature’ story for a presentation using music and drama together. Each student will have the chance to play and instrument, observe a performance and act as part of the workshop. These workshops connect science and art, along with introducing pupils to others cultures and music and theatre practice from around the world.

Title: Devised Theatre Project
Type: 5 X 2hr rehearsals leading to a full performance
Description: The performance and workshops can be on any topic and can cover any subject matter. Past projects have included The Environment, Coming to the UK, Vikings, Hercules and Ananse, so there is a lot of scope in this project. Students devise their own material, led by two experienced workshop leaders. They then develop this into a full performance to be shown in assembly or to parents. This project can run in conjunction with school festivals or special events as well. It can be run with one class or integrated across the year, whole school or inter-school, as the process allows each group to work on their own parts separately, coming together and sharing/ integrating their work for the performance day.
Age Group: Can be KS1, 2 or 3 or mixed years, KS4-5, FE/HE.

Title: The Tudors
Type: One off inclusive drama/educational workshop.
Description: The Tudors are explored using hands on drama techniques to illustrate their life and times. Workshop leaders teach through songs of the time, drama games and role play how the Tudors lived and how they viewed their world.

Title: The Victorians
Type: One off inclusive drama/educational workshop
Description: As with the Tudor workshops The Victorians are explored using hands on drama techniques to illustrate their life and times. Workshop leaders teach through Victorian songs, drama games, Victorian games and pastimes and role play how the Victorians lived and how they changed the world we live in.

Title: Shakespeare
Type: One off workshops
Description: Either looking at the Elizabethan World Picture and Shakespeare’s role in it, or looking at the nuts and bolts of a specific curriculum based play. The workshop looks at acting technique, history, verse, prose and structure in the Shakespeare play. The workshops are tailored to the level of the group but looked at from a performance (acting and writing) point of view. They emphasise the quality and importance of the work through performance (both by the workshop leaders and the students) and bring out the meaning of the plays then and now. They will give students the understanding and confidence to enjoy the plays as they should be enjoyed

Title: Writing/ Scriptwriting/Screenplay
Type: 5 X 2hrs or one off
Description: Led by professional writer(s) these workshops can be general creative writing, (looking at storytelling and story structure) or specific Film, Television, Theatre, radio drama or documentary writing (looking at specific film and TV structure and film and TV formatting). Students will work towards a specific piece of work that can be published or presented at the end of the course. Past courses have included short films, plays and children’s books (written by parents).

Title: Literacy Workshops
Type: One off workshop or series
Description: These workshops look at the word and how we use it to create interesting and stimulating literature. By looking at given texts the group enact parts of it and examine the words, structure, punctuation, imagery etc. to enhance understanding of writing in general and help with enjoyment and academic achievement.

Title: Modern Theatre
Type: One off workshop
Description: Looking at newer plays, these workshops examine writers and productions over the last fifty or so years. They can be tailored to specific writers, depending on the availability of our experts in the particular field. Writer’s/plays looked at include Harold Pinter, Edward Bond, Roy Williams and Bertolt Brecht.

Title: Custom Made Learning Projects Through Drama
Type: One off/ continuing workshops
Description: These sessions use drama techniques to enhance topics or curriculum subjects, to create a greater understanding or to form links between knowledge bases. They are often used for PHSE sessions or to enhance SMSC, to promote group dynamics, address problems within the group or build a creative dialogue. They are fully inclusive, regardless of ability, special needs or language. They have included Communications, Peer Pressure, Conflict, Biography (local/personal history), Spaces, Time, signs and signals, Friends and Strangers.

Title: Team Building

Description: These sessions offer practical solutions as well as training in games and techniques to use in the classroom. By taking part in the workshops participants gain first hand knowledge of how drama can be used to solve problems, highlight areas of difficulty and offer solutions. Feedback on these sessions has always been overwhelming and teachers and parents or co-workers have found the experience an invaluable way of opening discussions and enhancing the group dynamics of the organisation.

Title: Professional Performance Training
Type: One off sessions
Description: Professional advice and training in most disciplines for theatre, television, film and radio. These sessions offer drama training for students wishing to move on to Drama School, audition for theatre/TV/Film/radio or brush up on their skills for professional work in the entertainment industry. Students can work on speeches/routines/scenes of their choice or get advice on what to choose for the right purpose and how to achieve their best.

Below is an epsiode of our Rivercross Soap Opera, developed with Radlet Lodge ASD school, where we used green screen to work with the young people in the school, allwoing them to create their own stories and then place them in another location.

Pointless Taxi is a film club created by Mick Wearing and originally funded by Bexley Council. We moved to Rose Bruford College in 2009 to run weekly workshops for young people aged 14 - 19.
